序文より
Ever since it was founded in late 1988, the EA-Generali Foundation has continued to develop. Based on the model of the bourgeois fine-art societies dating back to the nine- teenth century, the objectives and resources of individual EA-General companies were pooled in the EA-Generali Foundation, a corporate art institution in Austria, an orga- nization of this kind has an important task to fulfill by complementing government fund- ing for the arts. In general, ours may well be the model of a private art organization for the late twentieth and early twenty-first century. In the late eighties, the Foundation was also still engaged in outside sponsoring activities, i.e. financing projects that had no direct links with the Foundation, such as a partnership with the Vienna Secession from 1989 to 1992.
